The Magic of the Unexpected

The unexpected can deliver magic.

My daughter and I went looking for the Perseid meteor shower at a local park.

As we looked out into the sky, we weren’t seeing any meteors. Then I noticed that the sky looked odd. It was glowing like a faint green version of sunlight shining through the clouds.

Instead of a meteor shower, we were being treated to the Northern Lights, and it was spectacular! Our meteor shower party turned into an aurora party. Soon the green was joined by a vivid pink.

As the aurora subsided, we saw a few meteors streaking in different parts of the sky. That was also spectacular. But the unexpected glow of the Aurora Borealis was a reminder that sometimes the best things are unexpected.
